CARVING OUR WAY
2024
From March-September 2024, I was Artist-in-Residence with Creative Recovery Inverclyde in Greenock Scotland.
The residency drew on thinking around sediment, rivers and erosion in relation to memories and how they move around and accumulate in our bodies. As a group, we explored this through looking in detail at local bodies of water, reflecting on our own memories of being in and around water and by collecting local wild clay which we processed together to use. We made small sculptural offerings from the clay which we returned to the River Clyde to disintegrate as part of a performance at The Wyllieum in Greenock.
Thank you to the team at Creative Recovery for their support and to Creative Scotland for funding the project.
